The North Platte River rolls slowly but incessantly under the profile of Scotts Bluff National Monument-Nebraska. It is a boundary between our two cities. Yet, as we walk along its banks, as we watch its motion, as we quiet ourselves to hear its song, we are reminded that this river is not what separates us, but that which we share.
At times, we find ourselves separated by faiths, beliefs, denominations. Through nature and in song, we realize that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. "So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." (Romans 12:5)
